The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland with affordable and accessible sport for Queenslanders in the 2025–26 Budget.

The $395.4 million Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games 2025-26 Budget lays the foundation for a fresh start, ensuring more Queenslanders have the opportunity to participate in sport.

Play On! Sport Vouchers will boost participation and deliver much needed cost of living relief for Queensland families.

Each year, families can claim one $200 Play On! sport voucher per child aged between five and 17, with a dedicated allocation for children living with a disability, and for kids living in regional and remote areas to even the playing field.

The Government's $250 million Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program will upgrade more than 100 community club facilities in the leadup to the 2032 Games, helping support our next generation of athletes.

State-owned and operated Sport and Recreation Venues will also see important upgrades and improved infrastructure in Townsville, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, encouraging greater active participation as well as better support for athletes on the performance pathway through to elite in those regions after a decade of neglect under the former government.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games Office will be supported with $55.6 million over four years to coordinate Games planning, manage the Queensland Government's Games budget, and deliver the Games Legacy program, to ensure a Games that all Queenslanders deserve. A further $101.9 million will ensure other Government agencies can deliver their required Games responsibilities.

The Budget delivers funding to transition Queensland Academy of Sport to a statutory body two years ahead of the former Labor Government's schedule, and allow the Academy to continue identifying Queensland talent and assist our athletes to reach their full potential.

The Budget includes funding for capital works to complete the redevelopment of Browne Park in Rockhampton after another cost blow out under Labor.

It also supports Stage 1 of the Rockhampton Sports Precinct, upgrades to Police Citizen Youth Club facilities, and support for eligible not-for-profit sport and active recreation organisations impacted by natural disasters.

Treasurer David Janetzki said the 2025–26 Budget was about delivering for Queensland with greater participation opportunities for sport and active recreation in every community in the state.

"We promised a fresh start for Queensland and that's exactly what this Budget delivers," Treasurer Janetzki said.

"After crises in youth crime, health, housing and cost of living, this Budget delivers the foundation for safety where you live, health services when you need them, a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a plan for Queensland's future."

Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Crisafulli Government was delivering cost of living relief for families as well as investing in grassroots sport and elite athletes.

"With Play On! Queensland kids will now have the chance to get on the field or the court, regardless of where they live or their ability," Minister Mander said.

"We are also upgrading grassroots sports clubs as well as state-owned venues throughout Queensland, to encourage greater community participation and for more Queenslanders to be active.

"The Queensland Government is making the Queensland Academy of Sport's transition to a statutory body as smooth as possible, so they can continue to support the best athletes in the country and unearth Queensland's next sporting stars.

"Now that the 2032 Delivery Plan is underway, the Olympic and Paralympic Games Office will support the preparation to make the 2032 Games a world-class event that delivers a lasting legacy for Queensland."
