We are redeveloping the Spring Valley Bike Park in Torquay, creating an upgraded mountain bike facility designed to better meet the needs of local riders and support progression across a range of skill levels.

Works will start in mid-October and are expected to be completed by late December. The site will be closed to the public during the works.

The Spring Valley Bike Park has been a favourite among Surf Coast kids since it was built. While the park has undergone small upgrades, it has remained largely unchanged since it was first built.

Councillor Liz Pattison said the redevelopment would provide a fresh and exciting facility where local riders could test and develop their skills.

"Spring Valley Bike Park has been enjoyed by a generation of riders, so we are excited to give this much-loved facility a new lease of life," she said.

"The upgrade will see a more varied and engaging bike park that supports riders to build their skills and try something new."

Council has worked with local riders and Australian mountain bike trail design and construction company World Trail to develop a concept plan for the redevelopment.

The upgrade will deliver nine trails designed to support rider skill progression and creativity, with trail difficulty increasing progressively across the site.

Once complete there will be three easy trails, four intermediate trails and two difficult trails.

These works are part of Council's public open space improvement works.

Delivering social infrastructure and public spaces that support health and social connection is a priority in the Council Plan 2025-29 under the 'Community Wellbeing' strategic direction.
