Campaspe Shire Council is pleased to announce that works on the Wilf Cox Pavilion at Kyabram Recreation Reserve are set to commence in the coming months. This $3.2 million investment will deliver much-needed upgrades including female-friendly and gender-neutral change facilities, umpire changerooms, showers, and toilets—ensuring the facility better meets the needs of all users.

The upgrades mark the beginning of a broader vision for Kyabram Recreation Reserve, with Council reaffirming its commitment to a second stage of improvements.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell stated that Stage 2 would be shaped through a comprehensive community engagement process, to be facilitated following the conclusion of the 2025 football season.

"Council is committed to listening to our community and we want to thoroughly understand the needs and aspirations of residents, user groups, and stakeholders to ensure the next stage of upgrades reflects the priorities of those who use the space most.

"Community engagement sessions will provide us with the insights needed to make informed decisions about the future of the Wilf Cox Pavilion and the wider recreation reserve," Cr Mackrell said.

The engagement process will be led by an independent facilitator and will include consultation with service users, local schools, sporting clubs, community groups, and the broader Kyabram community to ensure a diverse and representative range of voices are heard.

Wilf Cox Pavillion spokespeople Mr Dale Denham and Mr Steve Edwards welcomed this approach from Council, stating that the best outcomes for the community would come from working in partnership with Council.

"We look forward to working collaboratively with Council to design a facility that is inclusive, functional, and future-ready," they said.
