Stand with me at G - virtually. fill pink Lady this Saturday

Breast Cancer Network Australia

The annual Pink Lady match will be a clash between traditional rivals Melbourne and Hawthorn this Saturday 17th July at the MCG.

Alongside the game will be Breast Cancer Network Australia's iconic Field of Women, which will happen virtually this year due to COVID restrictions.

Instead of gathering in pink and blue ponchos on the hallowed turf of the G, Australians, no matter where they live, can stand on the G virtually. Participants can buy their virtual place inside the Pink Lady and leave a message of support or dedication to someone affected by breast cancer.

Places can be purchased at www.pinkladymatch.com.au and are 100% tax deductible.

Melbourne Football Club is a proud and long-standing partner of BCNA (since 2005) and this year's Pink Lady match has even greater meaning. Midfielder Oskar Baker knows the devastating affect a breast cancer diagnosis can have, his Nan and Aunt are breast cancer survivors, his mum and greatest supporter Trudie died from the disease in 2017. New Demon, 2020 draft pick Fraser Rosman also understands what it means to support someone with breast cancer, his mum Trudy received treatment throughout COVID in 2020. Trudy Rosman is the Pink Lady match ambassador and will be addressing the players in the lead up to the match.

The game will be televised on FOX FOOTY.

The virtual Pink Lady will be powered by event partner Red Energy. CEO Iain Graham believes the virtual event provides an opportunity for even more people to show their support for those affected by breast cancer. "Red Energy is proud to be a part of the iconic Field of Women for another year. Whilst the 2021 event is in a different format, the symbolism of support hasn't changed, and we think it's great that everyone around Australia can participate."

In 2021, it is projected that 20,030 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer including 164 men and 3000 will lose their lives this year to the disease, Breast Cancer Network Australia is there to connect, inform and advocate for every one of them at every stage.
