The allegations in The Age today are absolutely sickening and go to the heart of the rotten and corrupt culture surrounding Labor's Big Build.
Victorians will be appalled to learn that a company generating millions of dollars from taxpayer-funded Big Build projects was owned by a convicted domestic violence offender and linked to bikies, organised crime figures and violent offenders.
Labor spent years boasting about getting more women into construction.
Yet according to these allegations, Labor's idea of supporting women in construction was to funnel taxpayer money to a company owned by a serial abuser.
Jacinta Allan was the minister responsible for the Big Build for years. She oversaw the system, the contractors and the culture that allowed criminal and union-linked networks to infiltrate taxpayer-funded projects.
As Minister and now Premier, she could have intervened at any time – but repeatedly chose not to.
These revelations raise new and serious questions about who knew what, and when - with allegations that bikies issued instructions to major Labor government contractors who ultimately reported to Jacinta Allan.
Victorians deserve the full truth. Only a Royal Commission will chase down every single cent of the $15 billion rorted to CFMEU corruption on Big Build sites.
Jacinta Allan won't call a Royal Commission because she has too much to hide and too much to lose.
Only a Liberal and Nationals government I lead will enforce the law, find the money and stop the rorts.
