Statement From Leader Of Opposition 28 January

Liberal Party Victoria
Today, the Victorian Liberal Party Room elected David Southwick as Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party.

I again take this opportunity to thank Sam Groth for his service to the Liberal Party and Nepean community over the past three years and look forward to continuing to work together in the months ahead.

David brings significant experience, enthusiasm and energy to this important role and shares our team's complete commitment to delivering a credible alternative government that Victorians want to elect.

Member for South-West Coast, Roma Britnell, will assume the role of Shadow Cabinet Secretary following Joe McCracken's announcement that he will not contest the upcoming election.

For the past year, Joe has served in this important role with distinction, and I am confident Roma will continue this outstanding work in the lead up to the November election.

In November, Victorians face a choice between an old, tired and out-of-touch Labor Government, or a new generation Liberal and Nationals team that has the right priorities for Victoria:

  • Strengthening our economy to ease cost of living pressures.
  • Ending the crime crisis and keep communities and families safe.
  • Delivering a world class health system Victorians can have confidence in.
  • Giving every Victorian the best opportunity to own their own home.

Our team is excited for the year ahead and our full focus is on providing our state the fresh start it so desperately needs.
