Statement on National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan's Meeting with Foreign Minister Hassoumi Massaoudou of Niger

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met today with H.E. Foreign Minister Massaoudou Hassoumi at the White House. Mr. Sullivan recognized Niger's continued commitment to democracy and rule of law and commended its counterterrorism leadership in West Africa. The National Security Advisor and Foreign Minister discussed the wide range of U.S.-Nigerien collaboration in the areas of food security, economic development, and military-to-military cooperation. U.S. assistance includes over $140 million in development, food security, and humanitarian aid to Niger this year alone.
