Police have charged a Maryborough man with a further 21 offences following an incident yesterday, 20 January that began at Peregian Springs and ended at Tewantin.
It will be alleged the man, who was suspected of stealing keys from a business on Eumundi Noosa Road on Saturday 17 January, was spotted driving a black Holden Commodore on the Sunshine Motorway on 19 January and subsequently tracked by police.
The vehicle was found crashed and abandoned at Tewantin around 12am yesterday 20 January, before the man was located nearby and arrested.
A subsequent search of the Holden Commodore by Sunshine Coast Police uncovered items allegedly stolen from a business on Herbenar Lane in Magnolia on 13 January.
Further inquiries lead Wide Bay Police to search a residential property on Scott Street in Maryborough around 4pm yesterday 20 January, where they seized a maroon Hyundai Santa Fe.
That vehicle was allegedly involved in a break and enter at Magnolia on 13 January and a number of other offences in recent weeks, including a fuel drive off at Cambridge Street in Granville on 13 January.
The 24-year-old Maryborough man has since been charged with five counts of fraud, and two counts each of evading police, enter premise with intent, stealing, wilful damage and mail theft.
He was also charged with one count each of unlawful possession of stolen property, stealing a vehicle, possessing counterfeit money, vehicle number plate offence, driving whilst disqualified, and breach of bail.
He has been remanded in custody and is next due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 16 February.
