Georges River Council
Georges River Council is calling on residents to get involved in a Clean Up Australia Day event, to help keep the Georges River area beautiful.
Council is supporting a growing number of community events for Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 5 March 2023. Clean Up Australia was established over thirty years ago when Ian Kiernan AO predicted the problems that single-use plastics would pose for the environment. After the death of her father Ian in 2018, Pip Kiernan was appointed Chair of Clean Up Australia to continue the legacy of leading the charity.
Georges River Council Mayor Nick Katris said that the annual event is a prime opportunity for our residents to come together to achieve positive outcomes for the community and environment.
