Steve Poltz Set To Light Up Ararat Town Hall In March

Ararat Rural City Council is inviting residents to enjoy a night of world‑class storytelling and music when acclaimed singer‑songwriter Steve Poltz returns to Town Hall Ararat on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

Presented by Ararat Live, the show will run from 8 pm to 10 pm in a relaxed cabaret setting, with the bar open from 7.30 pm and patrons welcome to bring their own nibbles. Known for his raucous, joyous and improvisational performances, Poltz works without a set list so every show is different, responding to the mood of the room and drawing the audience into the performance.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, raised in Southern California and now based in Nashville, Poltz has toured Australia more than 20 times and built a loyal following for his mix of stellar guitar work and songs that can have audiences smiling one minute and crying the next. His work has been praised by international outlets including Rolling Stone, Associated Press, and Billboard, and he continues to record and tour extensively with more than a dozen albums to his name.

Mayor Cr Bob Sanders said it was a great opportunity for local residents to experience a high‑calibre live music performance without leaving the region. "Having an artist of Steve Poltz's calibre on our Town Hall stage is a real treat for our community," Cr Sanders said. "He is a natural storyteller with a genuine connection to his audience, and shows like this add depth and colour to our local live music scene."

"I'd really encourage people to grab a few friends, book a table, and make a night of it in the heart of Ararat," he said. "When we turn up and support events like this, it sends a clear message that Ararat is a place where artists want to play, and where locals are proud to come out and enjoy a good night's entertainment."

The performance will feature cabaret‑style seating, with tickets priced at $40 for adults ($50 at the door), $30 for concession ($40 at the door), and $20 for under‑18s ($30 at the door).

Tickets and further event information are available via the Ararat Town Hall website.
