Stolen Vehicle Arrest, Nundah

Police have charged an 18-year-old Ripley man following an incident involving a stolen vehicle in Nundah last night, 20 April.

The vehicle, a white Volkswagen Golf was allegedly stolen from an address at Foxtail Road in Ripley overnight on Sunday, 19 April.

Police further allege the Volkswagen drove at a police car on Thorn Street Ipswich last night, 20 April.

The vehicle was tracked by police and Polair for a period, eventually entering the north Brisbane area where a Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) was successfully deployed and the vehicle came to a stop in the northbound tunnel on Sandgate Road, Nundah.

The driver of the vehicle, the 18-year-old Ripley man was taken into custody and transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was charged with one count each of unlawful use a motor vehicle - publish on social media, dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence, and attempted enter dwelling, four counts of receiving tainted property, five counts of enter dwelling and commit.

He was refused bail to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, 21 April.

The passenger of the vehicle, a 14-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt girl, was also taken into custody and transported to Queensland Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
