Stolen Vehicle Robbery Probe Underway in Murgon

Police have charged a teenager following investigations into the alleged robbery of a vehicle at the Murgon Showgrounds on June 20.

It will be alleged that around 8.10pm, four males entered a silver Toyota Hilux utility that had been left running while it was being connected to a food van.

A 50-year-old man attempted to intervene and was allegedly assaulted before being forced from the vehicle.

A 52-year-old man who was inside the food van at the time was also allegedly forced from the vehicle after the food van became detached a short distance away.

The Toyota Hilux was then driven from the scene.

Following investigations, police arrested a 15-year-old boy on June 22.

He has been charged with one count each of robbery with personal violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed driving.

He is due to appear before the Kingaroy Children's Court today, June 22.

Investigations remain ongoing into the involvement of other persons.
