Stonnington Presents Classics

After a two-year hiatus, Stonnington is thrilled to see the return of a much loved and FREE classical concert in the park with the return of The Classics!

Coming to Malvern Gardens on Saturday 26 February, enjoy an evening celebrating classical hits performed by the renowned 65-piece Stonnington Symphony Orchestra. Led by acclaimed conductor Roy Theaker, the orchestra will also feature special guest performers.

Roy Theaker is the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor for Stonnington Symphony. Roy has enjoyed a celebrated career as a conductor, violinist, concertmaster, chamber musician and recording artist. As a soloist, he has performed internationally and is an elected associate of the Royal Academy of Music.

Musical theatre star Patrice Tipoki joins the evening's bill. A born performer, Patrice has starred in musical productions the world over, including Les Miserables, the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Growing up with a musical family, Patrice has Irish, Maori and Chinese ancestry and she's been lighting up the stage since the age of seven! Patrice is currently starring in the Australian production of Moulin Rouge: The Musical as the Satine Alternate.

Soprano Jacqueline Porter brings her stunning operatic vocals to the Classics stage! Jacqueline is a regular feature with Australia's major orchestras, and most recently lent her star talent to perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Jacqueline brings nuance and subtlety to her lauded performances, and she is sure to captivate the audience.

Australian performer, writer and presenter Sian Prior will host the evening. Sian has had a shining career in the arts as a broadcaster working across radio, television, print and online. Multi-talented Sian is also a writer, public speaker and musician. She sings with the French choir and is a graduate of the Opera Studio at the Victorian College of the Arts.

Alongside the performances, enjoy a delicious selection of boutique food and beverage options with specialty coffee from Miss Fleur, handmade ice cream and sorbet from Popstic and wood-fired pizza from the Travelling Pizza Pie.
