Stop Use Order – Alpine Heritage Motel

Goulburn Mulwaree Council gives notice that the Alpine Heritage Motel is currently subject to an Emergency Development Control Order, issued on 19 November 2022.

The Order prohibits the premises from operating for the purposes of accommodation, due to risks associated with fire safety and public health. Despite this order, the premises has continued to operate, and is putting the lives of occupants and patrons at risk. The Order has been issued as:

a) The premises does not have a current fire safety statement
b) Significant fire safety upgrades are required to be undertaken throughout the premises
c) The building constitutes or is likely to constitute a life threatening hazard or a threat to public health or public safety

In addition to the above, the presence of black mould also poses a serious threat to the health and wellbeing of occupants and patrons.

Council is issuing this statement in order to inform the community of the very serious risks associated with occupation of this premises. We strongly encourage community members and visitors to our region to choose another accommodation provider.
