Story of hangman 'Nosey Bob' Howard

HFHG May RachelFranks creditJoy LaiDr Rachel Franks will share the sensational story of Robert 'Nosey Bob' Howard, the longest-serving hangman for NSW at the next Hawkesbury Family History Group meeting on Wednesday, 10 May at 10am.

She will discuss her research on Robert Howard, the longest-serving executioner in NSW, with a career spanning for nearly 30 years, with a special focus on family history and how she put together some of the pieces of Nosey Bob's life. Howard executed 61 men as part of his job, plus one woman Louisa Collins, the last woman hanged in NSW.
