There's more classic summer viewing on NFB with a selection of landmark films from the NFB and a special seasonal playlist for these lazy, hazy days.

50th anniversary of the Montreal Olympic Games

Celebrate 50 years since the Olympic Games were held in Montreal with Jean-Claude Labrecque, Jean Beaudin, Marcel Carrière and Georges Dufaux's feature-length Games of the XXI Olympiad. Edited from almost 100 km of footage, this sweeping Olympic portrait is much more than a simple record of the Games. Each event becomes an opportunity to reveal the athlete-whether winner or loser-as a unique individual.

Curator Marc St-Pierre also takes readers behind the scenes of the film's creation in his NFB blog post "Memory Rediscovered: The 1976 Montreal Olympics.".

Olympic Memories

Explore more memories in a special channel featuring Olympic dreams of years past. Highlights include Ariel Nasr's The Boxing Girls of Kabul, about a remarkable group of young Afghan women who dream of representing their country at the 2012 Olympics, and Charles Officer's The Mighty Jerome, which explores the rise, fall and redemption of Harry Jerome, Canada's most record-setting track and field star, and medalist at the 1964 Olympics.
