Street disturbance, Edmonton

Police are investigating a street disturbance in Edmonton overnight after a teenage boy and two men sustained serious injuries.

Around 6.15pm, officers were called to reports of a group involving approximately 20 people fighting near Boyce Park.

All had dispersed prior to police arrival.

Then at 6.45pm police were notified a 20-year-old man and 49-year-old man had attended a nearby Queensland Ambulance Service station before being taken to Cairns Hospital with head injuries and a broken arm.

A third person presented directly to the Cairns Hospital and is also being treated for head injuries.

Police conducted a number of inquiries at nearby homes warning residents and appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Investigations are continuing. Police have not yet received any formal complaints at this time.
