Strike Force Raptor North have charged a woman over her alleged role in a large-scale drug supply syndicate in the Newcastle and the Hunter regions.
In November 2018, the Criminal Group Squad's Strike Force Raptor North commenced an investigation into the large commercial supply of methylamphetamine and MDMA in the Port Stephens/Hunter and Newcastle City Police Districts.
During the course of the investigation, Strike Force Raptor North investigators have charged four men – aged 21, 28, 35, and 40 – and a 19-year-old woman. They remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, a 60-year-old woman was arrested at a home at Aberglasslyn just after 10am today (Wednesday 15 May 2019).
She was taken to Maitland Police Station, where she was charged with supply greater than commercial quantity of prohibited drug.
Police will allege in court that the woman was involved in the transportation of up to 2000 MDMA tablets.
The woman was refused bail and appeared at Maitland Local Court today, where she was formally refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 17 July 2019.
