Strike Force Raptor seize cannon after search warrant near Dubbo

A cannon has been seized from a property near Dubbo after police executed a search warrant yesterday.

Police from the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor have been working with the Orana Police District to proactively target Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) members and their associates.

On Thursday 2 March 2017, police from Strike Force Raptor and Orana Local Area Command served an FPO on a 64-year-old man at a rural property on Minore Road, Minore, and allegedly located 24 firearms.

A 64-year-old man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with a total of 61 offences and remains before the courts.

Following further information investigators yesterday, (Friday 14 June 2019), attended a rural property on Eulalie Lane, Walmer.

Police located a small cannon in nearby bushland secreted by vegetation.

The cannon was seized by police and investigations are continuing.

Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad in 2009. It is a proactive and high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and any associated criminal enterprises.
