Strike Force Raptor targets Gypsy Joker OMCG clubhouse, NSW

Strike Force Raptor have searched a Gypsy Jokers outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) clubhouse in Sydney’s south west after it was legally declared a restricted premises by the NSW Supreme Court, NSW Police say.

As part of ongoing targeting of unlawful activities of OMCGs in NSW, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor have been conducting inquiries into the illegal supply of alcohol and prohibited drugs at a property in Horsley Park.

In September 2018, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were called to the property over the alleged kidnapping of a 22-year-old woman. A 29-year-old man was arrested at the location and charged. He remains before the courts.

On Friday 7 December 2018, investigations of the Gypsy Jokers OMCG clubhouse resulted in the Supreme Court of NSW declaring the location as a restricted premises under the Restricted Premises Act 1943.

About 10.30am yesterday (Thursday 13 December 2018), Strike Force Raptor, with the assistance of officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command, South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad and Police Rescue Squad, conducted an inspection of the Gypsy Jokers OMCG clubhouse at Horsley Park, where they located a fully-functioning bar and entertainment area.

A number of items used in the supply of alcohol were seized by officers.

Criminal Groups Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace, praised the work of officers during the operation.

"Police will continue to use all the resources and legislation at our disposal to disrupt gangs and their criminal activities," Det Supt Wallace said.

"This operation is a great example of Strike Force Raptor’s refusal to allow gang-related crime to continue in the community."

Fairfield City Police Area Commander, Superintendent Peter Lennon, said officers would continue to target those involved in the illegal supply of alcohol and prohibited drugs.

"Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command are committed to working with our Strike Force Raptor colleagues to target criminal groups wherever they may be," Supt Lennon said.

"We want people to feel safe in their communities and not have to worry about criminal groups sullying the neighbourhood."

Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.
