Strike Force Trident Investigates Aggravated Burglary

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 39-year-old man following an alleged aggravated burglary in Coconut Grove overnight.

Just before 8:15pm, police received reports that two men armed with machetes were allegedly attempting to break into a residence on Hazell Court.

General Duties officers and members of Strike Force Trident attended the residence, with the two alleged offenders attempting to flee as police arrived.

A 39-year-old man was located hiding in the front garden of the property, allegedly still armed with a machete. He was arrested at the scene.

The second alleged offender fled the area and remains outstanding.

No injuries were reported by the occupants of the residence.

Strike Force Trident is continuing to investigate the incident, and efforts remain ongoing to identify and locate the outstanding offender.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the Hazell Court area around the time of the incident, or who may have relevant CCTV, dash-cam or other footage, to contact police on 131 444.
