This National Science Week Territory school students will meet scientists on the frontline protecting Australia from exotic pests and diseases, threatening agricultural and livestock industries.
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is hosting two events for students this national Science Week which runs from 9-17 August 2025.
Next Wednesday, 13 August 2025, the Katherine Research Station is hosting a Science Spectacle and Ag Adventure where students will learn about biosecurity, fisheries, soil testing, insects, mangoes, livestock management and molecular biology science activities at the research farm.
On Friday 15 August 2025, Darwin students will be able to participate in Survivor: Northern Territory Biosecurity Quest - Zom-BEE Apocalypse at the Berrimah Farm Science Precinct!
The Biosecurity Quest is high-stakes, hands-on scientific adventure where students will confront mysterious pathogens and race to find the antidote, discovering the vital role of biosecurity and exciting STEM careers that protect our unique NT environment.
