As part of the Digital Education Hub, Study Australia has launched a new Academic Readiness course to complement its suite of microcredentials. Recognised by the Australian Government, these short online training courses are designed to support an international student's Australian education experience.

The newest addition, the Study Australia Academic Readiness Microcredential is free and suitable for all students who wish to be fully prepared for the academic requirements of the Australian education system. Students will learn how the Australian education experience is designed to protect them and ensure the quality of their education. Modules include:

  • Introduction to the Australian Education System
  • Academic Standards
  • Methods of Teaching and Learning
  • Mindset Preparation

The first of these, the Work Readiness Microcredential, was released in August 2020 and provided a tailored resource for successfully navigating the Australian and global job market. It has been designed to complement a student's Australian qualification. By completing this microcredential alongside their studies, students build their chances of finding work in their chosen field.

Both microcredentials are free of charge to all international students: graduates, current and prospective; onshore and offshore. Upon completion, students will receive a digital certificate that can be shared with professional networks, such as LinkedIn and potential employers.

This new suite of microcredentials, alongside a growing range of other digital resources and services, are designed to support ongoing engagement with Australia's global student community and to add value to an Australian qualification, enhance the student experience, and facilitate work-and-study and graduate outcomes.

Providers are encouraged to share both Study Australia Academic and Work Readiness Micro-credential courses with current students, onshore and offshore, as well as prospective students, agents, alumni, partners, and sector stakeholders worldwide.
