Study To Examine Rare Earth Processing

To maximise the benefits of minerals development, Resources Victoria is exploring the possibility of establishing the state's first rare earth element processing facility.

In partnership with the Commonwealth Government, a pre-feasibility study is examining the technical and economic viability of establishing a common user facility in regional Victoria.

Developing rare earth element processing in Victoria will support advanced manufacturing and strengthen local supply chains.

The study is expected to be completed by mid-2026 and is being delivered as part of Victoria's Critical Minerals Roadmap.

The Roadmap sets out a plan to unlock Victoria's critical minerals potential by attracting investment, enabling production and processing and ensuring community benefits.
