Sub-$400K Affordable Homes Launch in North Adelaide Today

SA Gov

Twenty-two new affordable homes in Adelaide's north will today hit the market today via a partnership between the Malinauskas Government and Rivergum Homes.

The release includes 12 Torrens-titled fixed priced house and land packages selling for between $399,900 and $410,000, and 10 community title homes priced between $330,000 and $355,000.

The two and three bedroom Smithfield Plains homes front Davison Crescent and Barrat Street and opposite the Curtis Road commercial precinct, close to services and shops.

The architecturally designed homes feature well-appointed kitchen, dining and living areas.

They form part of the SA Housing Authority's Affordable Homes Initiative which offers a range of single garage and double garage options.

Affordable housing supports individuals with low to moderate incomes.

The initiative allows households with limited financial resources to dedicate no more than 30 per cent of their weekly income to housing expenses, be it for mortgage payments or rent.

This ensures that households can adequately budget for other essential living costs, including food, clothing, transportation, medical care, and education.

The homes are available from today on the SA Housing Authority's affordable homes platform homeseeker.sa.gov.au

As put by Nat Cook

It's really tough to break into the housing market at present and these homes will provide an opportunity for a number of first homebuyers.

This is a really good initiative for lower income South Australians to realise their home ownership dream.

We build these homes in locations like this one, so that people are near the services they need.

As put by Mary Patetsos, SA Housing Trust Board Presiding Member

The outstanding partnerships we have with our builders like Rivergum Homes under the Affordable Homes Program, mean innovative approaches to bringing affordable homes to the market, benefiting our customers and South Australia as a whole.

As put by Tony Scott, Land Development Manager, Rivergum Homes

Rivergum Homes is proud to partner with the SA Housing Authority on this pivotal project.

We are dedicated to the belief that affordability can be aspirational. We are committed to supporting this initiative to ensure everyone has the chance to attain homeownership.
