Bayside Council's annual Summer Foreshore Program, Love Our Bay, is underway with residents and visitors enjoying the coastline safely and learning how to correctly take care of our beautiful bay throughout summer.
This year's Summer Foreshore Program includes a vibrant line up of family friendly activities and events across the entire foreshore.
Winning entries from Council's photography competition are set to be showcased along the Brighton Beach foreshore, celebrating local talent and our stunning coastal landscapes.
The Seabirds to Seascapes display at Lady Robinsons Beach continues as part of a NSW Government initiative to improve ecosystem health and raise awareness about protecting marine species.
Youth pop up activities continue across the foreshore during January, including beach safety sessions run by Surf Life Saving NSW, plus cricket, volleyball and football activities on the sand.
Visitors can also enjoy bike safety workshops, engaging waste education sessions for children, and opportunities to learn about seahorse conservation efforts and seagrass regeneration projects.
In February, bird enthusiasts will be invited to farewell our migratory shorebirds at a special birdwatching event.
Unfortunately, due to the rain forecast for Saturday 17 January, the first Love Our Bay Mornings event will be postponed to a later date. A new rescheduled date will be shared with the community as soon as possible.
