Summer Foreshore Program: Bayside 17 December

Bayside Council's annual Summer Foreshore Program, Love Our Bay, encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the coastline safely while helping protect and care for our beautiful bay throughout summer.

The program, with a strong focus on safety, respect and responsible behaviour, will see Council Rangers and Maritime NSW delivering targeted education, alongside increased foreshore visibility and regular patrols during the busy summer period.

The NSW Police will also be undertaking patrols along the foreshore with an increased focuses on unsafe Jet Ski behaviour to help keep everyone on the water safe.

The Summer Foreshore Program also features a vibrant series of family-friendly activities and events held right along our foreshore.

Winners of Council's photography competition will soon be showcased on display along the Brighton Beach foreshore, celebrating local talent and our stunning coastal landscapes.

The Seabirds to Seascapes display at Lady Robinsons Beach forms part of a NSW Government project aimed at improving the health of our ecosystems and protecting marine species through education and awareness.

This interactive and informative display encourages visitors to learn more about Bayside's natural environment and how simple actions can help protect it - stop by, grab a coffee and discover more about our local seabirds.

January will deliver a lively program of youth pop-up activities on the foreshore, including NSW Surf Life Saving beach safety classes, as well as cricket, volleyball and football beach sessions.

Visitors will also enjoy, bike safety workshops, fun and engaging waste education programs for children, as well as opportunities to learn about seahorse conservation initiatives and seagrass regeneration.

Birdwatchers will be invited to farewell our migratory shorebirds at a special birdwatching event in February. Find out more about the Summer Foreshore Program on Council's website.
