Sunshine Coast Council moves to recovery phase for Weyba, Weyba Downs and Peregian Breeze bushfires

Sunshine Coast Council crews will be out and about early on September 12 assessing roads and other infrastructure for damage as council moves to the recovery phase of its operations for the bushfires.

Council crews will also be cleaning up any fallen debris.

Council urges residents to be aware at all times of potential risks including fallen trees and ash.

Personal hardship financial assistance has been activated for Peregian Beach, Peregian Breeze Estate, Peregian Springs and Weyba Downs with four different grants available – emergency hardship assistance grant, essential household contents grant, structural assistance grant and essential services safety and reconnection grant. A Community Recovery Hub will open from 9am tomorrow at the Peregian Beach Community House at 255 David Low Way, Peregian Beach. Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services representatives and community support groups will be onsite.
