Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a residential fire this evening in Sunshine.
Emergency Services were called to the Cornwall Road unit just after 8.30pm to find the unit engulfed in flames.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze which caused significant damage to the unoccupied single storey unit and moderate damage to a neighbouring unit within the block.
At this stage detectives are treating the fire as suspicious and a crime scene has been established.
It is expected an arson chemist will attend in the morning.
