Support Landsborough and Mooloolah this weekend after Mulitsport Festival postponed

Council is calling on the community to support the towns of Landsborough and Mooloolah this weekend as they were gearing up to welcome out of region visitors for the Sunshine Coast Multisport Festival which has now been postponed.

The festival, comprising the TreX Cross Triathlon Championships and the Sunshine Coast MTB Festival, was due to be take place at Landsborough's Ewen Maddock Dam but, as a result of recent rainfall and the site's condition, event organisers have decided to postpone the event in the interests of participant safety.

Division 1 Councillor Rick Baberowski said despite the change in event plans, Landsborough and Mooloolah businesses were keen to welcome weekend day trippers for a hinterland experience.

"I encourage everyone to stop in for coffee and cake, shop local and discover the family friendly parks, museum and heritage town charm that Landsborough has to offer," Cr Baberowski said.

"Along the way, the Mooloolah Valley offers the perfect scenic drive through countryside, in the valley below the Blackall Range."

The Sunshine Coast Multisport Festival organisers will advise rescheduled event dates via their website www.in2adventure.com.au.
