Supporting Anti-Doping Efforts in International Sports

SRM 2926

What: SRM 2926 is a frozen aqueous solution of recombinant human insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). The SRM consists of three vials, each containing approximately 0.25 mL of frozen solution.

Why: IGF-1 is measured in human serum for clinical diagnostic purposes as well as by the sports anti-doping community to detect abuse of human growth hormone.

Who: SRM 2926 is intended to be used to support quantification of IGF-1 in human serum using LC-MS/MS measurement methods.

How: This SRM can be used to assess the accuracy of calibrators and control materials used for the quantification of IGF-1 using LC-MS/MS. An international certified reference material for human IGF-1 should improve the equivalence of measurement results between different methods and across geographic locations.
