A cheaper and more sustainable option
After food waste, disposable nappies are the most common material found in our garbage bins. Once in landfill, they take up space and take hundreds of years to breakdown.
In comparison, reusable nappies are a far more sustainable option, as they can be used many times and for more than one child. This makes them far cheaper in the long run.
When it comes to reusables: it doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. It's about using more reusables, more of the time. If you use one reusable nappy a day you will save 365 disposable nappies from going to landfill each year.
Nappy webinars
We know that the thought of using reusable nappies can be daunting. This is why we're partnering with Evia Collective to host two free online webinars for Port Phillip residents:
- Session 1: Thursday 21 November, 7.30 pm - 8.30 pm
- Session 2: Saturday 30 November, 10 am - 11 am
The webinars will cover nappy basics, including an explanation of:
- different types of modern cloth nappies
- fitting and washing disposable nappies
- additional benefits like adjustable absorbency levels and how they can be used by several children.
You will also receive a free nappy pack to help kick-start your nappy stash as you build up a collection over time. The pack will include 5 modern cloth nappies and a wetbag.
