Surface damage forces Crescent Head fields to close

Kempsey Shire Council

Crescent Head fields are closed

Crescent Head sports fields will be closed for some time after an unauthorised group used the fields when closed due to wet weather, causing significant ground damage.

Kempsey Shire Council has been forced to close Crescent Head fields until further notice to allow the fields time to recover from surface damage.

Council intermittently closes fields during bouts of wet weather to preserve their condition however, the Crescent Head fields were used during this time and were damaged as a result.

Many community organisations use our sports grounds and Council works hard with these groups to maintain the fields in an appropriate condition for the safety of those using them.

We'd like to remind the community to refrain from using the grounds when they are closed as damage like this will occur.
