The Department of Economy and Society, as well as teaching rooms, are in the building on Viktoragatan 13.
The staff is notified, and security officers at the University of Gothenburg are in contact with the Swedish Police.
The National Bomb Protection will conduct a closer investigation, according to the Swedish Police.
