The University of Sydney is once again holding information days in Vietnam, a once-a-year opportunity for you to meet our staff, students and alumni in Vietnam.

University of Sydney alumna and CEO of Savvycom, Thanh Van Dang
University of Sydney alumna Thanh Van Dang is the CEO and founder of Savvycom, one of 2017’s Top 30 Global Mobile App Developers. She built the company from the ground up and now leads a team of 100 engineers – a significant achievement for anyone but particularly for a woman from the rural provinces of Vietnam.
As a child of seven she sold peanuts and produce in the village market to help her family survive. She said an Australian Awards scholarship and her time at the University of Sydney not only changed her life and it also helped her to break through in the male dominated world of computer science.
"Four years living and studying in Australia opened my mind. Back then my goal was to leave poverty, but now I am driven to succeed and to not only support other women, but to create an oasis where women can support each other," Ms Dang said.
