Motorsports enthusiasts will descend on Symmons Plains Raceway this weekend for Round 5 of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.
Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Engagement and Sport, Rob Fairs, said the Tasmania Super 440 continued to cement the State's reputation as a premier destination for major sporting events.
"We have a dedicated motorsports following in Tasmania, and I know many people will be thrilled to return to Symmons Plains for some high-speed action," Mr Fairs said.
"This year's Supercars Championship event is expected to attract between 28,000 and 30,000 attendees across the three-day program.
"Events like this deliver a significant boost for accommodation providers, hospitality venues, and tourism operators across Northern Tasmania.
"That's why the Tasmanian Government is investing $4 million from 2025 to 2027 to secure Tasmania's Supercars round."
An additional $1.8 million is being provided to Motorsport Tasmania for essential safety and amenity upgrades at Symmons Plains Raceway, ensuring the Supercars events can continue to be hosted at the venue into the future.
This year's event will also mark a major milestone, with the 100th Supercars/Australian Touring Car Championship race to be held at Symmons Plains.
The venue becomes only the second raceway in Australia to reach the century milestone, alongside Perth's Wanneroo Raceway.
The Tyrepower Tasmania Super 440 will take place at Symmons Plains Raceway from Friday, 22 May to Sunday, 24 May 2026.
