Police have charged two people with firearm and multiple serious drug trafficking offences following a search at an Angle Vale property yesterday.
At about 5.45pm on Tuesday 18 August, Northern District Volume Crime Section detectives conducted a search of a home at Angle Vale.
During the search, police located two firearms and a number of drug-related items. Further searches of the property uncovered significant quantities of illicit drugs, two firearms and a large amount of cash.
Police seized, approximately 9.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 3.3 kilograms of cocaine, 232 grams of MDMA, over $80,000 cash and two revolver handguns among other items.
A 33-year-old Angle Vale man and a 22-year-old Angle Vale woman were arrested and charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possessing a prescribed quantity of a controlled precursor, firearms offences and money laundering.
Police will also allege there were four children at the address. Appropriate notifications and arrangements were put in place to ensure the children's welfare and ongoing care.
Police bail was refused and both are expected to appear in court today.
The investigation remains ongoing.
