Tarneit comes alive

A new monthly market is happening on Saturdays in Tarneit with local artisans, producers and creatives showcasing their goods amidst a festival of scrumptious treats and live music.

Running through to June, the Tarneit Makers and Growers Market is popping up at locations across Tarneit, including the Dianella Community Centre, Tarneit Community Learning Centre and Penrose Promenade Community Centre, on the fourth Saturday of every month, and has a new time slot: 11am - 3pm.

The final market in June will be in the evening and with extra stalls and entertainment. All sites are accessible, and visitors with assistance animals are welcomed.

The Tarneit Makers and Growers Market will provide a curated market experience featuring high quality hand-made or designed textiles, stationery, ceramics, homewares and jewellery, along with locally grown produce and authentic culinary experiences.

The market aims to showcase local businesses and uplift community spirit through place activation and interaction.

Creative City Portfolio holder Cr Marcel Mahfoud said: "It's exciting to see our community back out in the sun and supporting local by picking up some fresh produce or a gift for a loved one, while enjoying live music."

Stallholder spots for the Tarneit Makers and Growers Market are almost full, but applications are open for the limited spots remaining.

"Supporting local creatives is a top priority at Wyndham City. Last year, we successfully hosted the MADE on Watton pop up shop, and this year's Tarneit Makers and Growers Market is a great opportunity for our community to meet and support local artisans and producers."

This free Wyndham City event series is being delivered by the Tarneit Suburban Revitalisation Program in partnership with the Victorian Government. Live music and outdoor cinema events are also popping up in locations throughout Tarneit, with upcoming events in March and April.

Music Nights in Tarneit are bringing free outdoor music performances on Friday nights in March and April. Movie Nights in Tarneit will see free outdoor movies with deck chairs, popcorn, refreshments, and roving entertainment.
