Tas Gov Reveals Neighbourhood House Suppliers

The Tasmanian office of KPMG and .id (Informed Decisions) will deliver an independent needs analysis of the Neighbourhood House network.
Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the analysis will deliver a better understanding of the demands on Houses and identify the long-term sustainability needs of the network.
"Our support for the local services, community engagement and wonderful work provided by our neighbourhood houses is stronger than ever," Minister Ogilvie said.
"Neighbourhood Houses are growing in importance to Tasmanian communities, providing people with connection and support through a place-based model.
"From community gardens to social activities, each house responds to its local community beautifully. That is why we want to ensure our government's support is aligned with community needs.
"While Neighbourhood Houses received funding of more than $15 million in 2025-26, we are aware they are dealing with increasingly complex demands.
"We want to strengthen our understanding of local community needs so we can make informed, sustainable decisions that support the valuable place‑based work delivered by Houses across Tasmania."
KPMG has been engaged to deliver the needs analysis which will include consultation with Houses and recommendations for future models.
.id has been engaged to deliver objective data-driven demographic profiles of community need which will inform the needs analysis.
3P consulting will be engaged by the Department of Premier and Cabinet as an external community sector specialist to provide strategic advice and guidance throughout the project.
Consultation on the needs analysis will commence this month. It is anticipated that the project findings will be delivered later this year.
"All Neighbourhood Houses will have the opportunity to participate in this important work, with consultation using a mixed-method approach that includes face-to-face engagement as well as written feedback," Minister Ogilvie said.
"Our Neighbourhood Houses remain pillars of healthy, supportive and inclusive communities.
"Our Government is committed to delivering for Tasmanians through a place-based approach."
