More than $370 million in concessions are being delivered to 95,000 eligible Tasmanians as part of the 2026-27 Budget.
Tasmanians living on embedded power networks in retirement villages, aged care facilities and caravan parks are benefitting from these concessions.
Under the new framework, eligible embedded network customers will be able to access a suite of support measures, including an annual electricity concession, medical heating and cooling concessions, and life support concessions.
Treasurer Eric Abetz visited the Oak Tree Retirement Village in Kingston to talk to this important cost of living measure.
"Tasmanians on fixed incomes living in retirement villages, aged care facilities and caravan parks have been benefitting from our embedded network concession," the Treasurer said.
"These concessions help with heating and running things like dialysis machines, making a real impact coming into winter.
"The Tasmanian Government is stepping up to support our community with cost of living challenges.
"Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future is all about taking action on the things that matter most to Tasmanians, including the cost of living.
"Tasmanians living in embedded electricity networks, such as many residents of retirement villages and permanent residents of caravan parks, have not been able to access electricity concessions in the same way as customers who receive electricity directly from an authorised retailer.
"We're ensuring that they are supported."
