An offer of clean clothes, a non-judgmental conversation, and a fresh outlook on life: Orange Sky Australia are on a mission to positively connect communities. The Lott by Tatts NT is proud to support the charity's Darwin operations for a third year with a $90,000 donation from unclaimed prizes.
What started as a bold idea more than a decade ago, Orange Sky has since scaled into a powerful social movement that offers free laundry services, warm showers and companionship for people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Thanks to our customers, The Lott by Tatts NT has helped keep the wheels turning for 'Betsy', the Orange Sky van that delivers vital services to approximately 1,984 people experiencing homelessness in Darwin.
Last year, our partnership provided the Darwin community with 379 loads of fresh laundry, 412 warm showers and 514 hours of genuine connection across 96 volunteer shifts.
Orange Sky Co-Founder and CEO Lucas Patchett said the funds will allow them to continue to expand their community impact, providing safe spaces for people in need.
"Right now, many Australians are finding it harder than ever to get by, with many going without basic necessities like clean laundry and access to a safe, warm shower. Orange Sky has never been busier and it's coming from people from all walks of life; people who never thought they would be in the position of needing support," Lucas said.
"This generous donation helps us continue showing up for our friends in the community and expand our services so more people in need can access what everyone deserves - safety, respect and essential services."
