Team Australia pavilion in top four on global stage

The AusBiotech-led Team Australia delegation featured in the top four largest pavilions present at BIO Digital 2021 this week, where it proudly flew the virtual Australian flag and showcased Australia’s capabilities to a global audience.

As the industry’s independent voice, AusBiotech has led the Australian delegation to BIO for more than a decade. Its 60 company-strong digital delegation, with strong Victorian and New South Wales partnerships profiled, showcased Australian capabilities, promoted the strength of the Australian life sciences, and fostered global connections with its overseas counterparts.

Delivered digitally for the second year, the conference moved to a two-week format, with a new Global Marketplace and Innovation Stage taking place on 10-11 June (US), and an interactive education week on 14-18 June (US).

Promoting Australia’s competitive advantage in life sciences and sharing the top reasons to partner and invest in our Australian sector, AusBiotech CEO Lorraine Chiroiu delivered a Global Marketplace presentation on behalf of the country. The Global Marketplace was coupled with an Innovation Stage that featured fast-paced presentations, and digital networking, allowing delegates to identify prospective partners.

Hosted by the Biotechnology Innovation Organisation (BIO), the annual conference is the largest and most influential global event for the biotechnology industry.

The annual mission to BIO is closely aligned with AusBiotech’s strategic plan, which seeks to facilitate global engagement in strong established markets, including North America and growth markets in Asia.

With the vaccine rollout underway across the globe, AusBiotech is enthusiastic to reconvene in-person next year and to continue leading the Team Australia delegation in person, and to host the Australian pavilion. The pavilion showcases Australian companies, promotes the strength of the Australian life sciences, and fosters the global connections with its overseas counterparts.
