A teenage boy has been charged as an investigation continues after a pursuit and crash in Sydney's west last night.
About 8.20pm (Thursday 2 July 2026), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were patrolling the Merrylands area, when they located and attempted to stop an allegedly stolen sedan travelling on Hawkesview Street.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the sedan allegedly failed to stop at an intersection of O'Neil Street and collided with two vehicles.
The drivers of the two other vehicles were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics as a precaution.
The three occupants of the allegedly stolen vehicle ran from the scene, and a search of the area commenced.
Following inquiries, two 15-year-old boys were located and arrested nearby before being taken to Parramatta Police Station.
Meanwhile, a crime scene was established, and the vehicle was seized for forensic examination.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with breach of bail and was refused bail to appear before a Children's Court today (Friday 3 July 2026).
The second 15-year-old boy was dealt under the Young Offenders Act.
