Teen Charged in $300K School Vandalism

A teenage boy will face court after a break and enter at a school in Sydney's south west last month.

About 9.30pm on Wednesday 3 June 2026, police were called to a school on Bensley Road, Macquarie Fields, following reports of a break and enter.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended the scene and found several windows of multiple buildings along with properties within classrooms were damaged.

Initial inquiries have led police to allege approximately 27 rooms within four blocks of the school were affected with damages at approximately $300,000 worth.

A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 3pm yesterday (Friday 10 July 2026), police arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home in Macquarie Fields.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter with intention, larceny, and shoplifting value less than or equal to $2000.

He was refused bail to appear at Children's Court today (Saturday 11 July 2026).
