Teen sought for shopping centre assault

Police are seeking public assistance after a teenage student was set upon while on a school excursion at a Cheltenham shopping centre last week.

The incident occurred at the Nepean Highway shopping centre on 14 February about 1.30pm.

Investigators have been told a group of students were standing near the third floor food court when the offending teen approached the group and began to scream at one of the students.

Another student attempted to diffuse the situation when the offending teen punched and attempted to kick the victim.

A by-stander intervened and the offending teen walked off towards the Nepean Highway exit.

The offending teen is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall with brown hair and wearing a blue hoodie, black jeans, black shoes and carrying a black backpack.

It's believed he was in the company of two females.
