Teenage Girl Charged After Stabbing At Port Macquarie

A teenage girl is due in court today charged over an alleged stabbing at Port Macquarie.

Emergency services were called to a home in Brierley Avenue just after 9.30pm yesterday (Saturday 15 August 2026), following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District attended and found a 72-year-old woman suffering a stab wound.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital in a serious condition, before being flown to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested at the scene and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where she was charged with reckless wounding (DV).

She has been refused bail to appear in children's court today (Sunday 16 August 2026), where she was granted conditional bail to reappear on Monday 7 September 2026.
