Teenager Charged After Mickleham Stabbing

Fawkner Divisional Response Unit Alliance Taskforce officers have charged a teenager following a stabbing in Mickleham last month.

The 15-year-old from the Hume area self-presented to a police station on Wednesday, following the execution of a search warrant on Tuesday within the Hume area.

He has since been charged with:

- intentionally cause serious injury in circumstance of gross violence

- intentionally cause serious injury

- conduct endangering life

- common law assault

- assault with weapon

- possess prohibited weapon

- use prohibited weapon.

The charges follow an incident where a 17-year-old boy was located with injuries on Nightingale Road on 27 February.

It is understood two males approached the boy from the Hume area in a park, before the boy was allegedly slashed with a machete.

The pair then fled the scene, while the boy was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

He has since been released from hospital.

The 15-year-old boy has been remanded to appear before a children's court at a later date.

Police believe the incident was targeted and are still searching for the second male involved in the incident.
