Teenager charged in Wilcannia

A teenager has been charged after a search warrant was executed in the state’s west, NSW Police say.

About 10am on Tuesday 12 November 2018, officers from Barrier Police District received reports of an apprehended domestic violence order breach and firearms found at a property on Field Street at Wilcannia.

Just before 2pm police executed a search warrant on the property, seizing two firearms.

A short time later, a 17-year-old boy was arrested at the property and taken to Wilcannia Police Station.

He was charged with breach apprehended domestic violence order, and break and enter charges relating to an earlier offence.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Wednesday 21 November 2018.

Inquiries are continuing into the firearms that were seized.
