Teenagers Arrested After Pursuit And Crash At Ourimbah

Two teenage boys are in police custody after two separate pursuits in Sydney's south and Central Coast today.

About 1.45am (Tuesday 7 April 2026), officers attached to St George Police Area Command were patrolling on Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci, when they attempted to stop a white Audi sedan.

Checks revealed the vehicle had allegedly been stolen from a home in Beaumont Hills on Sunday 5 April 2026.

When it allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated however, it was terminated on the Princes Highway, Kogarah, due to safety concerns.

About 6am, the vehicle was sighted travelling along the Pacific Motorway, near Cowan.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop the vehicle and when it allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

Extra resources from Brisbane Water Police District were called; however, the pursuit was self-terminated by police a short time later, in the northbound lanes of the M1, north of the Gosford exit, due to safety concerns.

About 6.20am, emergency services were called to a rest area on the Pacific Motorway, Ourimbah, following reports a car had crashed into a tree.

The occupants allegedly ran from the scene before the arrival of police.

Following inquiries and with the assistance from the Dog Squad, police arrested two teenage boys – aged 16 and 14 – nearby at about 7am.

They were taken to Gosford Police Station pending further inquiries.

Inquiries continue.
