Two teenage boys have been charged following an investigation into the theft of vehicle following a break and enter in the State's west under Operation Soteria.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District responded to reports of a break and enter about 10pm last Sunday (1 February 2026), at an address on Coorigil Street, Hillvue, where a utility was stolen.
Following inquiries, about 10.15am yesterday (Monday 2 February 2026), police located the vehicle in West Tamworth, and officers attached to the Oxley Proactive Crime Team, Tamworth General Duties and the Dog Unit executed a search warrant at the location.
Two teenage boys, aged 13 and 15, were arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
The younger boy was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and breach of bail, and the 15-year-old was charged with breach of bail.
Both boys were refused bail to appear before a children's court yesterday (Monday 2 January 2026), where the 13-year-old was further refused bail to reappear at a children's court on Monday 9 February 2026 and the 15-year-old was granted conditional bail to reappear at a children's court today (Tuesday 3 February 2026).
Investigations under Operation Soteria continue.
